It is not as easy visiting the palace and park at Versailles anymore, living in the 'new world' makes me long for the outings I did during weekends from Paris. Roberto Polidori's pictures take me back to a much needed grandeur and reminds of the restored splendor and romantic fragility of the royal enclave. Versailles has been renovated throughout the years since the french revolution, Polidori captures the architectural and decorative re-installations. It has been centuries since the royal court inhabited the rooms, but the walls still bear witness of a taste for excess and wealth beyond imagination.
