Pictures of mural in Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo by Karl Lagerfeld. He's also designing an interior with Joel Robuchon in the same hotel.

What is luxury? KL: "Luxury is to be able to do what you want to do. More than possessions and things like this. Real luxury, what very few people have, a kind of freedom."

Kees van Dongen

Great anticipation for the next Biennale at the Grand Palais this year! Karl Lagerfeld is said to be staging the design of the whole exhibition that will host up to 150 galleries. Read my post from 2010 for pictures etc. "Week-end d'Or - XXVe Biennale des Antiquaires"

XXVI Biennale des Antiquaires 2012 - 14 to 23 September 2012, Grand Palais Paris.

At night in Versailles

 Photobucket

Wow, just came back from a colourful and spectacular evening at the palace in Versailles. The previous seat of the french Royals was exceptionally open until 1am. The famous facade of the museum was being lit blue for the occasion and the gold trimmed windows and roof details were lit up. Music from the 18th century was played inside the palace with the Hall of Mirrors changing light in different colours and shapes. Versailles has been in the news recently cause Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld staged their new Cruise collection show in the gardens of the palace.

I thought the rooms were more interesting than the actual exhibition. the first big hall was really impressive.
