At night in Versailles

 

Wow, just came back from a colourful and spectacular evening at the palace in Versailles. The previous seat of the french Royals was exceptionally open until 1am. The famous facade of the museum was being lit blue for the occasion and the gold trimmed windows and roof details were lit up. Music from the 18th century was played inside the palace with the Hall of Mirrors changing light in different colours and shapes. Versailles has been in the news recently cause Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld staged their new Cruise collection show in the gardens of the palace.

With it's splendour, we consent on viewing this marvel of Rococo style. Last week I visited the fabulous interiors of the Hôtel de Soubise in Le Marais, Paris. Look!

XXVe Biennale

The Grand Palais was the venue for the 25th Biennale des Antiquaires.

(Recension by me in Swedish: I Grand Palais gick den 25e Biennalen av stapeln. Jag kom in gratis eftersom jag visade upp mitt studentkort och damen i kassan sa att "design är ju också konst". Så bar det in genom metalldetektorer och hetsiga vakters blickar. Väl inne möttes besökaren av en bassäng med röda rosor. Olika gallerier från hela världen(mest från Paris förstås) omringade bassängen. Direkt framför låg salongerna med Haute Joaillerie - de jag var mest intresserad av att se. Juvelerare som Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier och Harry Winston visade sina senaste verk av de mest fantastiska ädelstenar och ädelmetaller. Sep 2010.)
